Common questions:

What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to fill in wrinkles, add volume, and contour the face. They're typically made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, or other biocompatible materials.

How long do they last?
The duration varies depending on factors like the type of filler used, the area treated, and individual metabolism. Generally, hyaluronic acid fillers last around 6 to 18 months, while others may last longer. Touch-up treatments are usually required to maintain results.

Are they safe?
When performed by a qualified and experienced practitioner, dermal filler treatments are generally safe. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, such as bruising, swelling, infection, or allergic reactions. It's crucial to discuss any concerns before undergoing treatment.

Is there downtime after getting dermal fillers?
Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment, but some may experience mild swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection sites. These typically resolve within a few days.

Are they painful?
Discomfort during the procedure is usually minimal, as most fillers contain a numbing agent like lidocaine. Some people may experience mild discomfort or temporary bruising afterward. Topical numbing creams or ice packs can be used to minimise it.

Who is a good candidate?
Good candidates for dermal fillers are generally in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the results. They should also have specific concerns that can be addressed with fillers, such as wrinkles, volume loss, or asymmetry.

PRP
(Platelet-Rich-Plasma)
PRP therapy is a natural treatment that uses your body’s own healing power to restore and repair tissue. A small sample of your blood is drawn and processed to concentrate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors. This plasma is then carefully injected into the targeted area, helping to reduce pain, speed up healing, and stimulate new cell growth. PRP is commonly used for joint pain, sports injuries, hair restoration, and skin rejuvenation. Because it uses your own blood, PRP is safe, minimally invasive, and requires little to no downtime.
CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels gently exfoliate the top layers of the skin to reveal a brighter, smoother, and more youthful complexion. By removing dead skin cells and encouraging cell turnover, they can help reduce fine lines, soften acne scars, and improve uneven pigmentation. Whether you want to refresh your skin or target specific concerns, chemical peels can be tailored to suit your needs. The result is clearer, healthier, and more radiant skin that lasts.

By picking the correct injector to work with, dermal fillers have safety protocols to ensure a safe experience for all.
POLYNUCLEOTIDES
Also known as PN or PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) therapy, are a relatively new approach to skin rejuvenation and regeneration. Polynucleotide treatments work by harnessing the regenerative properties of DNA to promote skin repair and rejuvenation. When applied to the skin through injections or topical formulations, polynucleotides stimulate cellular metabolism and collagen production, leading to improved skin texture, elasticity, and overall appearance.
DERMAL NEEDLING
Dermal needling with the SkinMed DermaFNS Pen is an advanced treatment that stimulates your skin’s natural repair process. By creating tiny microchannels, it encourages collagen and elastin production, helping to reduce fine lines, soften acne scars, and improve overall skin texture.

Common Questions
What are polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides are regenerative skin treatments that use purified DNA fragments to encourage your skin to repair, hydrate, and rejuvenate itself.
I use Dermafocus and Ameela polynucleotides, both high-quality medical-grade products.
Unlike fillers, they don’t add volume instead, they naturally restore skin quality from within.
How long do they last?
Results typically last around 6–12 months, depending on individual skin condition and lifestyle. A course of 3-4 treatments is usually recommended for the best outcome, followed by maintenance sessions every 6–12 months.
Are they safe?
Yes, Polynucleotides are biocompatible and highly purified, making them very safe when administered by a trained professional.
Side effects are usually minimal, such as mild swelling, bruising, redness, or small bumps at the injection site, which settle within a few days.
Is there downtime after polynucleotides?
Downtime is minimal, most people can return to normal activities immediately after treatment, although mild redness, swelling, or small bumps may appear and usually disappear within 24–48 hours.
Are they painful?
Discomfort is generally mild, very fine needle is used, however topical numbing agents can be applied before treatment for comfort.
Some clients may experience temporary stinging or tenderness, but this usually settles quickly.
